If I knew you were coming I'd have baked a cake.

Well, actually, if we were staying home today I'd have baked one.  A couple weeks ago, grand daughter Meadow and I baked a Red Velvet cake from scratch.  Something she told me she wanted to do.  It was the absolute best!  Anyway, we had a ton of frosting left and I froze it.  (seems the recipe had a measurement telling how much to put between the layers, of which there were 4 but she didn't tell me 'till after the fact.)   I was at the check-out at the store and saw a box of Red Velvet cake mix.  I picked one up since I had the frosting.  Hunter reminded me that I still have the cake sitting there to bake.  And I would bake it except we are supposed to go out for the day in less than an hour.  I will make it when we get home.

We hope to visit a friend in the nursing home.  She is like 90 and way cool.  I am not quite sure why she is in there other than the fact that she told her kids it was time.  This woman is sharper and funnier than I am.  And then-wonder of wonders-we are going to Gander Mountain.  Yes, a hunting store.  Hunter said to see if my daughter would be home and we would stop there and take them out to dinner, not fancy,   I am pretty sure she works until 7 tonight and that Meadow also has a group thing at school.  It's something they do every Friday night.

Tomorrow.  Tomorrow.  I will freeze the fresh pecans Hunter brought back from Texas.  Best pecans in the world!  We usually order them to be delivered before Christmas.  And I have a ton of laundry to do.  Tomorrow.  Procrastinate much?

It's cold.  20's and low 30's and windy.  I checked the weather for our up-coming trip and it looks to be an average of about 80 degrees.  Can't wait!

Nothing clever or witty or disastrous here so.....
I will just say bye and have a great weekend!
