Snow cone bras.

I wasn't old enough to wear those pointy white bras but I think they should start making them again.  Take off your bra.  Look at your nipples all smooshed.  Don't you just feel sorry for them?  How about you guys that are old enough  have unhooked a few in your day?  (and could you do so with just one hand?)  Anyone not sure what I am talking about...just look at Laura Petry.-The Dick Van Dyke Show.

If you are retired and it's just the two of you,.......-excluding hunting and fishing- where do you go or what do you do for adventure.  Or do you just relax.  Watch TV.  Cook.  This isn't coming out right.
OK.  Hunter is planning this trip and it is not for the two of us to do stuff together, but to stop here and there to see his friends so he can hunt and fish.  He wants to know why I don't want to have these "adventures".  Why I am not excited about them.

Let me try again.  I am curious.  If you are retired, married and there are no kids living at home,....what do you do together.  What are your lives like?

Argue! Sometimes we travel, but not to see friends and hunt and fish. First of all, I have no friends to visit and I quit hunting years ago and I can't catch fish with anything less that dynamite.

Aha, I suddenly had a visual of a certain high school teacher who wore one of them pointy type bras. And yes, it was a lady :)
Well, being divorced, I now have interesting discussions with Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star. Put it this way, our chats are a lot more fun than the ones with my former spouse. And none of those 'arguments' where, in actuality, I was agreeing with my former spouse.
I have a rather peaceful life, lonely, but nonetheless, more positive that it used to be.
Take very good care and keep smiling :)

Hubby plans to retire this year. When he finally does, we will be so broke I doubt we'll do much of anything. I just hope we can afford to stay online!

Patrick and I are young but we have no kids. With our spare time we go to the market, go fishing at a nearby lake for about 2 hours at a time, and we occasionally go on a road trip. Well we are going to take our first road trip not with family after we get our tax return.

As for the pointy bra...bring it!

Well, I'm not in the same boat as you. However, last year my folks both retired and it seems to me that they don't like each other very much. Mom spends a lot of time wishing she could get out of the house, Dad's happy to sit and be drunk. Then she drinks. They are toasted by three every afternoon.

From what I've seen, I'm not looking forward to retirement. And if I have to, if life sucks so much that all we do is hunt and fish, (Which my hubs is an advicate for - addiction) I'll puke!

I say, let him go do his thing, and you go do your thing. Light candles in the bathroom. Bubble bath, a home spa. Daily. The whole time he's gone. Run around naked and wear those pointy bras!!! LOL!

I always think the smooshed nipples thing is sooo funny. They look horrified and thought I was the only one who ever noticed! That cracked me up!!!

not there yet....but from the few I know....some nitpick at each other. Others though are really special. They travel....go dancing....host parties.....and constantly touch and hug and kiss each other. What a great way to be.

Well, take some road trips. Something not too long. I have a "coupled" friend who like to go to Reno together. They like to take cruises together. They like to take road trips together to see things they haven't seen before like the grand canyon or Washington DC or something. That's how it usually goes for them... and they have time together and time away from eachother in their house. Go visit old towns an hour or two away from home... walk around together. Those can definitely be called adventures!

Andy and I are also youngish and we do a lot together, even if it's not the same thing. For example, he might be doing his stamp collecting and I might be knitting or crocheting but we are often in the same room.

We do have separate parts of our lives though, like every day we have time where I will go to a coffee shop and sit and knit or read or whatever or go into the city for a bit and he will have some time to himself. I am very lucky!

J and I love to go camping in the summer. We also travel to just go see places. We used to love to golf together. Lately we watch to much tv together. We also love eating out and trying new things together when we are both not depressed in the winter.

I dunno, maybe it's just us, but we feel it works (going on 21 years now) because we are not so much alike. I like to read, he likes to work or piddle or never sit down.

We do both enjoy deep sea fishing, but that gets expensive.

I love to cook, he likes to eat, but sometimes just wants a meal out.

He's high strung and I'm much more relaxed.

I would travel extensively if I was retired and had the money when I needed it. Other than our normal trips, traveling makes him nervous. So I travel with my sister and nephew.

Sometimes doing things separately works better than spending every minute together.

If we spent every minute together, I'd have to take shooting lessons, which might turn out bad for him. ;)
