I either need a light box or a light-hearted husband.

It just seems to be dreary all the time.  And when the weather outside matches the damp and weary darkness inside me......you know it can't be good.  It would help if we had some sunshine.  What is the weather's problem?  Is it that damn Global Warming everyone talks about?  Maybe I will just put up a gazillion Christmas lights inside and outside the house.  Griswold here we come.

My hands are so cold and I can almost see my breath.  That last bit was an exaggeration but still....
Do you agree with the "fake it 'till you make it" theory?  I'm not one for faking anything but if I thought there was any chance in hell, I think I'd try it.

Oh!  You are probably wondering what happened to my joy and goal and resolve and all that.  I think Hunter stole it and put it in his pocket.  I tried twice to insist the kitchen was mine too.  Didn't work.  He gave me the "get out of my way" mouth.  I'd like to start laundry but I heard him tell a friend on the phone that he was going to cut up venison.  I think that involves using the washer and dryer as tabletops.  But he is in the kitchen now so I won't try to go in there to unload the dishwasher.  Um,...I have stuff I want to rearrange in the living room but I know he'll see me and tell me no or how I should be doing something.  I know!  I will clean the bedroom.  Opps.  His hunting clothes are all over the bed.

I could work in the office but that could open a whole other can of worms.  I had done the bills for most of my life until Hunter decided to take over the job.  I won't even get into it but for one thing-he can't balance the checkbook.  Then when it is a super mess he's like-"here, balance this."  But as always, I have done it wrong (meaning, he doesn't understand it).  I would just like to say one more thing on this matter.  I balanced my checkbook every month to the penny.  Kind of one of my fetishes.  Hi Coffey!

I just want to go to sleep and wake up when the sun comes out and Hunter is gone and the holidays are over.  Am I being too greedy here?  I know!  I'll go sit on Santa's lap and ask if I could have sunshine and peace and quiet for Christmas.  Peace and quiet means - Hunter is on another trip.

BTW - Gummy worm vitamins for adults?  Really?  I think they're playing fast and loose with the word 'adult' here.  Guess that's it.  I will read some posts then try to lay claim to some portion of my house.    Peace.

You know, I'm feeling the same way. Winter has sucked the wind from my sails. I'm tired and lethargic all the time, and even worse, I run out of ideas to write :-(

I especially dislike that it gets dark at 5:00 now. Yurgh.

Maybe The Hunter needs a light box. There's some merit in "fake it til you make it." Even if you're not in the mood for it, you can enjoy the process and the results of doing something productive and holiday-ish. But don't set yourself up for disappointment by expecting appreciation, just do it for you and maybe the grandkids.

I am totally with you on the light box deal...I have seriously looked into getting one because winter does a number on my moods. I wasn't so bad when I lived in South Florida (but then again...my road rage there was at an all time high...so it was a toss up - sunshine/good mood or road rage/go to jail...LOL). And personally, I think you need to light the hunter's ass on fire to make him be a little nicer to you (IMHO).

No, I'm not a "fake it till you make it" person either. Go for the lightbox, I'm pretty sure it will give you more satisfaction than Hunter and it darn well won't give you any lip!

Winter is my least favorite time of the year. Too cold, not enough sun, too long.... all adds up to a depressing time of year.

I do agree with Suz's sentiments. BTW...Does venison take fabric softener?

I agree with needing a light box! The dreary winter weather has set in here in MN and I fear it's here to stay for a few months.

My kids love those gummy vitamins, but I refuse to give them to anyone over the age of 18. And believe me, they have tried!

I use a SAD lamp. It does help some with depression if it doesnt send me overboard manic. I would be depressed also with what ever you do it gets shot down.
