Can you crafters help me?

I have a cement slab in the yard, propped up against the garage. It's like...20"x18" or so. It was black when I bought it and over a few years, it has faded. It does have a Bible passage on it and I got it in memory of my dad. The words are etched or carved into it. I need suggestions as to whether I should paint it or stain it, seal it-with what-as it is outside. And I need the indented letters to stand out or be easily read. Any thoughts?
Sorry this post is so loud....it's my headache. Plants are looking good this year! My son finally received his first check. My hair was really starting to get long-middle of my back, even my bangs-and thinner. WTF! I then read that as you get older, it does thin. Shit! Now I always like it long because I get so hot in the summer and I have to put it up. But,...I let my girl cut it, right after she striped it for me, thinking it would give me some much needed body. I have every product on the market and none of that really could give me that "Down South Big-Hair" look. I tried to replicate how she styled it and all you know that's an impossible task. This was just prior to our trip to Florida in Feb. or April. I love to travel with the widows down and even with a ponytail and visor or headband or duct tape, stray hairs would get in my eyes. So...I cut it. I combed every single hair towards my eyes and if it touched - it was snipped. The Hunter calls me Butch and I guess now I appeal to his other side. Strap-on. Oh shit! Did I just say that out loud? Alright, so I am loving my hair and the windy days and all that. But guess what I forgot about. My hair texture changes in the summer due to the heat and humidity. Most women hate the humidity but I always loved it's effect on my hair. Soooooo, guess who I'll be looking like this summer. Here's some clues. Welcome back Kotter. Grease. Scientology. New baby. That's right!!!! I look like......VINNY BARBARINO!!!!!

Roll on some concrete paint, brush a lighter shade in the lettering, then seal it.

Can you post a photo of what it looks like? That might make a difference in what advice might be given...

What passage is on the stone?

Not sure if Ms. A's comment was directed at the slab...or your hair!

I can't cut my long hair in the summer. If I do, I have to "style" it everyday and that makes me insane. So, long in the summer and up in a ponytail for me. I think I would use a cement stain and then a cement sealer. Hope your day is awesome. Unlike me, in which my day is going to be like pulling teeth, which will be happening about 2:00 this afternoon..wahhhhh!

I don't know what you've been putting in your Wheaties girl, but it sure is great to see you so chipper!!

I would go to Home Depot (in my best push up bra) and ask one of the workers there what to do with that cement you've got!

That's my official girly answer and I'm sticking with it!
