Forced By Another Blogger!

I had planned to do this later but another blogger (You know who you are Amy) posted her rendition which I must say was too funny. So yeah, here's mine. It was actually the "newsletter" I enclosed in my 1998 Christmas cards.

EXCERPTS FROM: T'WAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS
( Dedicated to our two cats; Spooky and Maynard )
T'was the night before Christmas and all through the house,
not a creature was stirring, not even my spouse.
The stockings were hung my the chimney with care
and we left out for Santa, some nachos and beer.
Pa-Chuck in his sweatshirt and orange hunting cap
had just settled down for a long winter's nap.
When downstairs below us a clatter arose.
I sprang out of bed spraining two of my toes.
We flew down the stairs, threw open the door
and there lay our baked goods all over the floor!
We rounded the corner and what did we see?
T'was Maynard all tangled in lights on the tree.
He meowed and he moaned as he tried to get free.
I thought about Spooky. Now where could she be?
And then from the tree, at the very tip top,
I heard the distinct sound of light bulbs go pop!
We looked up and saw that from whiskers to foot
her body was covered in ashes and soot.
The stump of a bulb she held tight in her teeth
and the smoke, it encircled her head like a wreath.
With the wink of an eye and a twist of his head,
Chuck said, "Let's help these kittens and go back to bed."
He spoke not a word but went straight to his work.
I got out the catnip and turned with a jerk.
And laying a handful aside of their nose
I gave Chuck a nod, up the stairway we rose.
We climbed into bed, glad the cats were all right.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!

And these are more reasons why

A) Cat people are not quite right in the head

&

B) We do not have a Christmas tree for the dogs to pee on.
