Judge not lest yea be RIGHT!

WALKING MAN & JOE C. - C'mon guys! You know that's where I was going with that. I've got the shoes already.

Here's the rules about Christmas lights:
1. Be yourself.
2. L.E.D. lights are just plain wrong!
3. Those icicle lights are so over,...
4. Do not mix L.E.D. lights with normal lights. Either go old school, warm, fuzzy all is calm or Do the Vegas casino style. Remember, that's either or. Not both.
5. Chasing lights? really? I refer to those as LIVE*NUDE*GIRLS lights. Now if you use those to advertise your line of work,....I'm ok about that. But do not try to pass them off as Christmas lights.
6. Blow up Santas and snow globes and other things that bobble incomprehensibly on the lawn or lay in a heap like so much dirty laundry? Um,...no. The only blow-up anything belongs in the bedroom of a lonely guy.
7. White wire "sculptures" do not become a Christmas anything just because they light up. You know what they are s'posed to be but to everyone else they are puzzling as a vanity plate that says krt raym. WTF! Save your money.
8. So,...like I said, be yourself!

Merry. Merry!

I don't care about rules, or how they look. My grandkids do the decorations and that is good enough for me. Actually this is my least favorite holiday of the year. If it wasn’t for the grandkids, I would skip the whole day.

Too funny! Blow ups only for the bedroom and the flashing lights only to promote "live girls". I won't tell you what our format lawn looks like, lol! No not into the tacky! Thanks for the comments about my mantle. The upside down tree is a fun conversation piece and with the high ceilings it fits very well! I like to be the odd gal and trust me it's not hard!

You forgot to mention droopy strings of lights. It's so hard for me to see a string of lights that should be pulled taut sagging. It's sort of like those kids who wear their pants too saggy. Every time I see them I want to tell the kid to pull their pants up. Same thing with the lights. I want to go staple them up. :D

You know we do the Vegas lights.. but if you read us.. you know why.. free advertisement is always good..and Christmas time is just a free range holiday for us.

Uhhh how does nothing sound, no lights, no tree (better in the woods anyway) no decoration of any kind.

That is me and the old lady being us.

I agree with you on all of this. I'll also be glad when all of this is over.

Hey I like my icicle lights and they are going up again this year. I'm not buying more lights because some fashion geek decided we should all scrap what works fine for something "new and exciting". Reusing what I have is me... and I still love a real tree. After all, they are farm grown around here and they wouldn't be there at all if people weren't going to buy them. It isn't as if the farmers are going to just let their land become a forest... so what the heck? It works for me, and then the tree goes to be recycled... so it's all good!

Mostly, I just like enthusiasm and joy during the holidays. If you like it, that's good.

I think the LED lights look cool...BUT they bug me because they are low-frequency...so when you just glance at them quickly, they look like they are flickering.
It is SO annoying on cars these days...especially the big Caddies with the HUGE tail lights. When they hit the brakes and they light up, when you scan across them quickly you get this fast flickering effect, and that is so distracting.
You know LED traffic lights are cheaper to run, but the problem with them is, they don't put out any heat, so in some areas of the country the snow is piling up on the signals and you can't see them. With old-style incandescent bulbs that problem did not happen, the heat of the lights would melt the snow.
I love looking at Christmas decorations, but I don't like putting them up. Let other people do all the work.
If you find yourself in need of a walk, then walk this way!
