Hey! Where you going? Take me with you!

So, I am losing followers. Am I too weird? That's what my grandson calls me. My daughter calls me a dork. My other grandson calls me Grannie. My grand daughter calls me flubber cuz my arms jiggle. And my son-in-law calls me freak but that's ok,...I call him worm boy. And my son calls me mother, with is weird and I don't know where he got that from. (I'm mom) But the way he says it cracks me up. He's not being formal. Oh crap. I know our family has it's own set of groups. Like one is "Pod People". And there are two more and it makes me mad that I can't think of them right now. Oh, so back to the future. I am not having a pity party here. I blog for me but I will still read and comment on the blogs I follow even if you all leave me. The Christians probably leave cuz I swear (though I never take the Lord's name in vain.) And the "heathen-ha!" probably flee at the mention of God. Errrr,...I think what really happened is that a few of the professional drinkers accidentally un-followed me. Yeah, that's it. Cool. I love you all anyway. Truth be told, I know we all have many characteristics and thoughts and stuff but most are not in touch with themselves or are in denial or keep themselves "in check." It's all good.

A.D.D. - this is a serious question. My therapist said that she is pretty sure my husband has A.D.D. and also that doing things the hard way (making easy things way too involved and difficult) is a symptom of that. Anyone know about this or can confirm this? Case in point,...this evening my man decided to clean the floor fans. He had me bring them outside and used his air compressor on them. I told him I could just wash them like I always do but he said it wasn't necessary. By the 2nd fan, he was asking if I would take it in and wash it as it didn't seem to be getting clean. Anyway, like I said, I always just take them apart and wash all the parts. He, on the other hand, had lowered the tailgate on the truck, dragged the fans outside, used both the shop vac and the air compressor on them. Just much ado about nothing. So my question is whether any of you have heard of this as symptom of A.D.D. I think the therapists explanation made sense at the time but naturally, I can't remember. (yeah, we'll address my Alzheimer's symptoms some other time.)

Ha! Not sure if it's A.D.D. or M.A.L.E! I think women just manage to think of easier, more efficient ways to do things.

It's not ADD, men just like to use tools on everything, that's all.
It is a sign of virility.
I wouldn't worry about losing followers, you still have more than I do. And I blog for myself as well, so it's cool.

I think it's just men. Maybe all men have A.D.D.?

And followers come and followers go. Don't sweat it. Every day my number fluctuates. I don't dwell on it because I know those who stay are truly my blog friends.

I agree it is a typical male thing to overcomplicate. Just as they can oversimplify an emotion they can overcomplicate a task.

With my ADD I just wouldn't even try to clean it. I am too distracted by other things.

Oh, Child, I know just what you are saying about followers. I think "what did I do to make them stop liking me?" and then I realize it could be a whole lot of things. I'm not religious. I swear. I look at cute boys. Heck! I look at cute girls too! Oh, and I drink. And I want to smoke opium once before I die. Oh, and I'm lazy. Well, shoot, I might not want to follow me either come to think of it.

Your husband is just a man. They are all like that.

First off, I use my blog as a form of therapy and also to rant and rave about our insane society... oh, and to show my twisted sense of humor, too. I like your blog. It's chock full of honesty and humor, as well. I like the little fishies, too. :)

I wish I could answer the A.D.D. question for you. My niece has the juvenile version of that and she's flighty as hell. I think your husband's behavior (with the floor fans) stems from being easily distracted and acting impulsively on too many thoughts coming all at once or closely following each other. I'm not sure. I have Major Depressive disorder, myself, so I know more about that type of mental illness/condition more than any others.

Sorry it took so long for me to get around to checking out your blog. I'm following your blog now... like you are with mine, btw. So, you've gained back at least one follower. Every time someone comments on my posts, I return the favor.

Anyways, take care.

P.S. Didn't mean to leave a freaking novel for a comment. lol.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. It's nice to meet you! :)

I have ADD, and this is so typical of something I might do. It's like I can't make up my mind on which way I want to clean something, so I get everything to be prepared for any situation which just leaves a big mess (or I forget what I was doing which leaves an even bigger mess).

I seriously have problems going from one room to another when I'm working on a project. I'll leave the one project to maybe go get a paperclip. However, while I'm at my desk looking for the paperclip, I see some paperwork I need to fill out. I start filling it out, and it asks a question that reminds me that I have laundry in the washing machine. Off I go to the laundry machine and spend an hour doing laundry. In the meantime, I've totally forgotten I needed a paperclip.

And back when we had floor fans, I did the same thing. Tried blowing them out, using a bottle brush to dislodge the gunk, vacuuming them, and then ended up having to take them all apart and wash them anyway.
