Ahhhh,.....ready for the truth now?

We left Monday. Man finally pissed me off. (it takes alot cuz I can handle alot) So I was just over the line to bitchy. We got there and it was my understanding that we were going to go and get food to cook at the condo. Never happened. I decided that since no one seemed to be interested in doing anything, I would go out and smoke. When I came back in, I met my husband, his son and the two grandkids on their way out to take the shuttle to the main water park. They were just gonna check it out and be back in a couple hours. I was told I could come with. And yes. It was innocuous enough but my mood turned it into "but we really don't want you too." They were on their way and I'd need to go get my suit on and besides, they were just gonna check it out and daughter-in-law had gone for a run so I thought, I won't hold them up and I could spend some time with the daughter-in-law. Hours went by. Then more hours. Can you feel the crabby rising up in my throat? Can you here the sarcasm in my head? Phones were useless. Text was spotty. So here's the deal. I thought fuck-it, I put on my suit and swam in the pool at our place. Was so calm. Hanging on edge of pool, looking out on the lake. Finally at about 6pm I texted again and told them to go ahead and eat, that I could get something here. I knew Ash had to eat cuz she has Juvenile Diabetes. No longer mad because I just decided to do what made me happy and ignore the rest, I did however, text that Deb had never come back from her run. The response? "Oh, she's here with us." She walked around the whole lake. So there's the whole family and here's middlechild left out again. Fine with me. Then they said they were just coming back and we were going out to eat. We ate all our meals out which I would normally enjoy but - at every restaurant, Deb and the 2 kids have Matt scoot back out so they can all go to the rest room and check Ashley's blood sugar. Waiting and waiting until my husband spots them outside?! They were there for quite some time. Matt finally went out to get them. Apparently they were all talking to Deb's mom. They see her everyday in Fl. where they live!!!! And does the 8 year old have to go pee every time they check Ash's blood sugar? And here's the kicker,....He's 8 years old!!!!!! And he's still going into the women's washroom? I saw a girl about that age come out of the stall and it scared the shit out of her. I know society sucks and no one is safe anywhere, blah, blah, blah. But his dad was there and could have taken him to the john. The next restaurant the same thing happened again and Matt tried to stop the situation but she gave him a look and he backed down. (I told him to man-up.) This could get real long so I will address the OCD, Tanorexia, Anorexia at another time. I guess I just wish we could have actually spent time with them. Like play board games and cook together and normal stuff. There really was no reason for us to be sharing a condo as it was never a "we" situation.

I'm sorry. I would have wanted to spend time together as a family, too.

I hope it gets better for you.

I have left the family and gone out to eat and read my book many times. Then when THEY were ready, I said, have at it. I already ate.

oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. I seriously believe that people just have no cooth. They probably didn't even realize that you were hurt by them. Happens to me all the time. I know the feeling...and I'm not a middle child. Now smile, it increases your face value. Blessings and Happiness to you and you.......

This sounds like a true and living hell.

On a separate note, I should stop sending my 8 year old into the women's restroom, eh?

It's just inconsiderate to leave someone behind. Especially when 'just gonna check it out' turns into hours and hours. How isn't that supposed to hurt your feelings? GAH, people.
Glad you were able to let it go and enjoy yourself in spite of it all.

People can be such jerks. I would have "had enough" too. Screw 'em. Take your own vacation. Bermuda is nice.

We just came back from a vacation where the family politics were everywhere. Drama and selfishness. Blood is thicker than bullsh** apparently.

Family vacations are great when remembered years down the road. It's always going to end one of two ways. 1. You really have a great time because you only spend time with the one family member you really like. OR 2. You wonder when you smoked crack, because you must have been smoking crack to decide to have a family vacation. Good for you to go get in the pool!
